The Weapons of God

We know that the word of God is the best weapon we have, but do we train with it? Do we study it with hungry anticipation to know everything our weapon can do or is our best knowledge of the bible as good as a butter knife in battle? As we learn how to use the bible, just like a knight learning a sword’s precise movements, we learn every move and every step we can from our master. It is no longer a little weapon. It is a deadly weapon that cannot be ignored. Not only will we be sure to block the blows of the enemy, WE WILL BE ABLE TO FIGHT BACK! Matthew 10:34 says “Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” If your family were under attack, would you not want the best weapon to combat against the enemy? “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 4:12 Do not be the one that finds out that you do not know how to use your weapon when the time comes. When you use the sword, the enemy has no way of coming in and taking what you have learned because as it says in Matthew 7:24-25 “So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them will be like a sensible man who built his house upon the rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock.” When we know the word of God, it’s strategies, and all that we can about God, the enemy has no way to get in and you can rest in peace knowing that your house is built on solid ground. It takes time reading and meditating on the word. The knight does not learn how to use a sword with precise movements until he has learned for years and years under his master. Then why do we not want to learn from the master of our hearts, the Holy Spirit, to teach us and bring us into oneness with our weapon? In order to become one with your weapon, you must train with it daily. Let the master of your heart (Holy Spirit) do His work in you and as you train your spirit, you shall become one with the weapon God has given you.

Another example is a sniper. A sniper trains vigorously for years before he becomes a veteran at what he does. He trains with it at all times and knows every detail about it. He can put it together with his eyes close. He learns how to take out the enemy with one blow because that is all he has, one shot, before the enemy knows where he is. With the Holy Spirit as our guide, He can teach us how to use our weapon, so that we can learn everything there is to know about it and how to use it. We must know our weapons thoroughly not leaving anything out so that when the time comes to take the shot, we will shoot with precise accuracy. This is the weapon of all weapons. It is stronger than the sharpest sword. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God speaks ALIVE and FULL of POWER. It is sharper then a double edged sword, penetrating the dividing line between breath of life and spirit, joint and marrow, exposing and analyzing and judging and sifting through the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” When we use this weapon with deadly accuracy, the enemy will fall before he even hears the shot. It will expose the enemy and cause him to come into the light.

If you do not learn your weapon, you will speak with inaccuracy. When someone speaks into your life, how will you know if it is the truth? If you speak confusion, confusion shall come forth but if you speak truth, (the word of God) truth shall crush the defenses of our enemy. My brothers and sisters soak deep in your heart the word of God and you shall learn the secrets of our Father’s heart that dwells within us. Do not allow this weapon to go silent, let it sing once more for we have let it go silent for too long. Let the weapon that has withstood the test of time come forth and deal the enemy a serious blow!
